Multimedia Artist, Violist

(b. 1978, Santa Ana, California)

Andrew Lane holds a Master of Music degree in Intermedia Music Technology from the University of Oregon with extensive studies in viola performance and Suzuki Pedagogy. He was an instructor of Electronic Music Techniques at the University of Oregon from 2003-2004. He specialties include: electroacoustic composition, interactive multimedia creation, music interface development, choral and instrumental conducting, and music technology. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with studies in voice and viola, from Whitworth University, Spokane, Washington.

Currently, Andrew is teaching violin and viola in his private studio, playing viola with the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra and working with his wife's company: Howe Public Affairs. He recently was directing the choir at Trinity Covenant Church and building electronic instruments and devices. He worked in nonprofit administration from 2004 to 2012 at Salem Leadership Foundation, Saint Vincent dePaul Society and Family Promise

While living in Spokane, Andrew performed with The Whitworth Choir, Jazz Singers, Chamber Singers, Opera Workshop Ensemble, Spokane Falls Community Symphony, and founded the Hawthorne String Quartet. In Eugene, he played viola in the University of Oregon Symphony Orchestra. Andrew has served as the Conductor for the original film score for the movie Westender, Director of Music for Judah Productions, Cofounder/Director North Salem String Camp, and Sound and Light Designer for Springfield Performing Arts Camp. He was the Director of Music at Springfield Lutheran Church, Strings Teacher at the Eugene Waldorf School, and a Suzuki Violin Instructor at the University of Oregon Suzuki String Program.
